The genius mastermind that is the Music For Freaks camp will be releasing a stomping remix of Queen drummer Roger Taylor’s, Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad) on 15th September.

And by some serendipitous twist of fate, the decadent party palace that is Pikes, which has been home to the Music For Freaks residency for the last two summers, is the locale at which the launch party for the record shall be held on Thursday 21st September.

Here, Freddie Mercury’s old suite, where the Queen icon spent many a heady day and night partying, has been transformed into a dark den of iniquity with a brand new soundsystem, and will be the location of the party. Pikes already has a solid reputation for bringing left-of-field DJs together with a wild and up-for-it crowd, and this is destined to be no different.

Originally released back in 1984, on 12″ vinyl only, having been recorded during Roger Taylor’s studio sessions for his solo album “Strange Frontiers”, ‘Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad)’ features Roger on vocals, bass, guitar and of course drums. Anna & Juan, realising this was a forgotten record and potential dance floor gem have now turned it into something rather special and despite the rumours, it’s a fully official and endorsed remix. This overlooked album track looks set to become one of the summer’s most essential records.

So it is only right that the Queen legacy continues in the shape of the Music For Freaks Special Summer Release Party, with the Freaks i.e. Luke Solomon and Justin Harris being joined by Anna Wall and Corbi plus MFF regular DJ Callum in Freddie’s Room.

Expect high-jinks, all-night raving and, of course, some cracking house music…
