Roger Taylor’s son, Rufus Taylor—also a professional drummer—has acquired The Shipwrights Arms, a historic waterside pub on Cornwall’s Helford River, along with his partner. The purchase is financially backed by his father, legendary Queen drummer Roger Taylor .
The Shipwrights Arms, an 18th‑century Grade II listed freehouse, has been revitalized with over £1 million in recent investment. Featuring rustic elements like exposed stone, flagstone floors, and low ceilings, it also offers modern comforts, deluxe letting suites, a private jetty and terraces for over 110 guests .
Rufus plans to maintain the pub’s traditional charm—serving fresh seafood, supporting the local community, and offering live music—while ensuring any updates are subtle. Currently, he and his partner are taking over day‑to‑day management, with Roger Taylor providing support and oversight .
