Dear Mr. Murdoch (demo)

There are 4 changes to the original album version, and these are: “whose lives bloody scan” instead of “whose lives you don’t scam”; “for money they tell us” instead of “for profit they tell us”; it lacks ‘Murdoch, Murdoch, Murdoch’ words whispered at the end & it uses much trombone. This version seems like it’s the same as the promo version which was released on the Japanese Promo of Happiness…? album. AND Dear Mr. Murdoch was originally The Cross’ song but it hasn’t been released or maybe even finished (no reasons for this are known, nor the version itself; as for now stays unreleased). Unfortunately either Roger demo, or The Cross demo did not make it to The Lot boxset.

Keep On Runnin’ (unreleased cover 1983)

This is the unreleased 1984 song, which seems to be complete, and is a Davis Spencer Group cover. Probably there were too many covers on Strange Frontier or just the album shouldn’t be that long (i.e. using all the music Roger recorded at the time). This song was already mixed for the album (duration 3:00). This cover still stays unreleased as it didn’t make it onto The Lot compilation.

Take You Higher (unreleased 1983)

Beautifully sung ‘I wanna take you higher… than before’ is another ballad which comes from the Strange Frontier sessions. It was already mixed for the album but not used (duration 3:23). This song is very interesting and I really do wonder why Roger put some songs on his album I wouldn’t have ever chosen instead of the ones like Take You Higher. I just do hope all that material sees the light of the day one day… unfortunately, like many other demos, it didn’t appear on The Lot compilation. Initially the song was called (I Wanna) Take You Higher.

Moment of Truth (unreleased 1983)

This song never surfaced as a demo. It was only brought to light with Roger Taylor official site’s song lyrics book published in 2013.

All Your Dreams Will Come True (unreleased 1983)
